The Goddard Veterinary Group is celebrating the 1,000th member to join its own in-house pet health plan. ProActive Pets was launched in 17 of its branches in December 2012.
The group now plans to extend the initiative to all of the practice’s 44 branches by the end of 2013.
Developed by Ben Everett, one of Goddards’ regional managers for north-east London, ProActive Pets aims to encourage compliance with preventative health regimes among clients, while enabling them to budget monthly.
In addition to discounted rates for core preventative care products and consultations, ProActive Pet members receive benefits including VIP access to nurse clinics and services and a range of special offers.
Mr Everett said: “With pet owners continuing to face tough economic times, we wanted to provide an easy way for them to keep their pets healthy. By joining ProActive Pets, they save money on basic treatments and can budget more easily for their pet’s care.
“It’s also helpful to our branches in terms of building long-term client relationships, based on providing a high level of veterinary care.
The veterinary group initially ran a year-long pilot scheme in two of its branches, and the initiative proved so popular that it had “no hesitation” in rolling it out more widely at the end of 2012.
Mr Everett added: “We attribute its success to the fact that it’s designed to be simple and cost-effective for owners and also straightforward for our branch staff to run. In fact our staff’s enthusiasm and support for the plan has been instrumental in its success and I’d like to congratulate them on making ProActive Pets a winner, both for owners and for their branch.
“We’re now looking forward to extending ProActive Pets to all of our branches during the year.”
