Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in Old Windsor, Berkshire is to hold a Marvellous Moggies Tea Party on August 20 in a bid to find homes for its long-term adult cats.
He has been waiting for a new home at the Berkshire charity for 140 days – more than five times longer than the average stay for a cat.
Brought into Battersea because his owners could no longer care for him, Charlie is looking for an indoor home and a lap to sit on. He is an affectionate feline with so much to offer – Charlie will be a cuddly companion when he is settled into a routine with his new family.
As well as meeting Charlie and the other felines looking for a fresh start, members of the public who attend the party will be able to take part in arts and crafts activities, raffles and games.
Old Windsor cattery team leader Christine Lloyd-Smith said: “This summer kitten season has been in full force for us, but now we have the added problem people don’t think about – all the adult cats that are passed by.
“People focus so much on the kittens at this time of year that cats like Charlie are forgotten about. So we really want families to visit our cattery on August 20 – not just to have some fun, but to meet Charlie and some of our cats that are desperately searching for new homes. Our cats love the attention and we can’t wait to show them off to our visitors.”
