Swindon-based Eastcott Veterinary Clinic and Hospital has become the first veterinary practice in the South West of England to gain an Investors in People Bronze Award. The practice was first recognised as an Investor in People in 2006.

Swindon-based Eastcott Veterinary Clinic and Hospital has become the first veterinary practice in the South West of England to gain an Investors in People Bronze Award. The hospital was first recognised as an Investor in People in 2006.

Eastcott Veterinary Clinic and Hospital were assessed by Recognising Excellence Ltd, the Investors in People centre for the South West.

People demonstrate a high degree of engagement with the organisation’s mission which everyone understands and uses to underpin the work they do.

She went on: “People are empowered and encouraged from the start of their career with the Practice. The Managing Director believes passionately in the value of learning and development for individuals and staff believe that managers are interested in and supportive of development and commented that it is a good practice to work for and that they enjoy their work.”

Commenting on the award, Eastcott practice manager Jan Sangster said: “We are extremely proud of this achievement, especially as we are the first veterinary business in the South West to achieve Bronze, as it recognises our commitment to providing the highest possible service to clients in the way we manage our business and invest in our staff.

“By actively encouraging and supporting our vets, nurses, client care and administrative staff to continue their professional training and development we are able to ensure that all our clients benefit from ever improving techniques and procedures in all areas of the practice.

However, she added: “We certainly won’t be resting on our laurels, and intend to work hard towards maintaining our Investors in People Bronze Award recognition and aiming for the next level of the award by working closely with both staff and clients.”
