SPVS and VPMA have announced that their joint Technology Day – the first of which ran last week (October 11, 2012) – will now become a regular event in the veterinary calendar.
The associations said that the positive response from exhibitors and delegates from the sold-out event was “unanimous“, meaning the “mini-congress” will be repeated in 2013. It is also likely to become an annual event, they said, “filling a growing need for practices to keep abreast of the latest technology”.
More than 100 vets and practice managers attended last week’s event, which saw 20 companies – including PMS providers, website designers and social media advisors – exhibiting the latest products. Workshops also took place throughout the day, on everything from cloud technology and digital telephone systems, to veterinary applications for smart phones or tablets.
Speaking about the event, Adi Nell, SPVS president-elect, said: “Most practices now have computer based management systems, but how many vets and managers understand their own system’s full potential? This was a day for anyone wanting to equip their practice for life in a digital world.
“We will expand next year’s event to meet demand, but have made a promise to exhibitors to retain its clear focus and intimacy.”
