Proud pupils from Bedfordshire have won a competition to have their class-designed “Get Well Soon” card displayed at a leading local small animal veterinary hospital.
The collective efforts of years three and four at Gravenhurst Academy in Upper Gravenhurst won the popular competition, which was run as a part of Davies Veterinary Specialists’ famous Family Fun Day, held last month (June 2014).
The brief was for classes at local schools to work together to design a “Get Well Soon” card for small animal patients (and their owners) at the veterinary hospital.
Clive Elwood, vet and managing director of the veterinary hospital at Higham Gobion, said: “The standard of work was very high; those attending could vote for their winner. Competition was fierce but ‘Sorry you’re paw-ly’ ultimately stole the show.”
The winning card has been framed and will take pride of place on the wall in the hospital’s reception area to give all the visiting patients a cheerful get well soon message, while the school has received a prize of £200 to put towards equipment.
