With gastro-intestinal problems representing a significant number of veterinary consultations for both cats and dogs, Royal Canin’s new Gastro-Intestinal range has been developed to provide a combination of nutritional support solutions for the different ways these problems present.

Optimal digestibility, using ultra-digestible proteins, and the use of psyllium in dry products to help regulate the digestive tract are key to the range – combined with extremely high palatability, the Royal Canin Gastro-Intestinal range is designed to make sure that the dog or cat’s body can absorb the nutrients it needs and support the animal through GI disease, which most commonly presents as diarrhoea and/or vomiting.

Latest additions to the range include Fibre Response which provides nutritional support for adult dogs with fibre-responsive colitis and cats with constipation, Gastro-Intestinal Moderate Calorie for adult cats and dogs requiring a lower calorie intake as well as GI support; and Gastro-Intestinal Junior for puppies suffering digestive problems.

The 10 products in Royal Canin’s Gastro-Intestinal range offer “the most complete nutritional support for animals with GI disease”, claims the company’s veterinary support manager, Lepha McCartan, who added: “We know that there are a number of different causes of GI disease in cats and dogs, and that the ‘one size fits all’ approach simply does not work. We have addressed the different problems so that vets can choose the food most closely matched to their patient’s needs, with a view to supporting the animal through the distressing problems which cause owners as much concern as their pets.”

The Royal Canin GI range is available from all veterinary wholesalers.  Find out more by contacting your veterinary business manager, visiting www.royalcanin.co.uk, or by calling 0845 717 800.
