College of Animal Welfare (CAW) two-day event – to be held in Milton Keynes this year – is dedicated to clinical coaches and those involved in veterinary nurse training.
The College of Animal Welfare (CAW) has announced registration for its 2013 TP (training practice) Congress is now open.
The congress – which is moving to the MKCC Conference Centre in Milton Keynes this year – is a two-day event dedicated to clinical coaches and those involved in veterinary nurse training.
Over the two days – March 18 and 19, 2013 – lectures will cover coaching support skills, teaching and training, and legislation and regulation. Speakers include:
- Paul Manning, director of Vet Learning;
- Jack Ward, chief executive at City and Guilds; and
- Pam Mosedale of AMTRA.
Nick Stace, chief executive of the RCVS, meanwhile, will be presenting a review of his first six months at the college, while Kathy Kissick, chairman of the RCVS VN council, will be updating VN legislation and regulation, following the first disciplinary case against a registered veterinary nurse.
There will also be advice on how to interview trainee nurses, tips on how to communicate with student VNs so they get the best out of their coaching, as well as a discussion on whether VNs should be SQPs. Also speaking will be Pam Mosedale from the BSAVA, who will discuss the legal requirements of dispensing.
