A new UK veterinary recruitment agency that claims to “genuinely care about animal welfare” has pledged to donate 5% of its annual profits to animal-based charities each year.
Harrogate-based Vet2Vet Recruitment specialises in permanent recruitment for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses across the UK and intends to support three different charities each year.
This year’s recipients will be:
- The Screech Owl Sanctuary,
- The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust, and
- Heros – a charity dedicated to re-training and re-homing ex-racehorses.
Further details on each charity can be found on the user-friendly Vet2Vet website, which is also packed with useful information for job seekers and prospective employers within the veterinary sector.
Company founder Juliana Caukwell has previous experience in veterinary recruitment and loved the job so much, she decided to set up on her own. She claims a very good working relationship with several clients across the UK and as such is inundated with job vacancies to fill.
Juliana speaks fluent Portuguese, French and Spanish, which she uses to great advantage with candidates from abroad. Her genuine love of animals has resulted in a varied collection of creature companions, as well as brushes with more exotic species, including camels, lion cubs, elephants and kangaroos.
She told vetsonline: “I am looking forward to a long and happy association with veterinary practices, their surgeons and nurses and a chance to make some small contribution to the well-being of animals throughout the UK.”
