The RCVS is to launch an updated Practice Standards Scheme (PSS), which aims to give practices a clear route to improvement and to deliver significant marketing benefits.

The scheme does this by allowing them to focus on and promote the areas in which each practice excels.

The Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons (SPVS) and the Veterinary Practice Management Association (VPMA) are teaming up with the RCVS to run an essential briefing on the scheme in Coventry on September 24.

The event is being hailed as an excellent introduction for those considering joining PSS and a practical “how to do it” for those wanting an update on the scheme.

The briefing will be a “hands-on day” with Jacqui Molyneux, chairman of the RCVS Practice Standards Group. Adi Nell, senior partner at Medivet, will also present a user’s view from practice.

The course costs £190 plus VAT for SPVS and VPMA members, or £265 plus VAT for non-members. A spokesman said: “If you do just two courses a year with us, it’s worth taking membership of SPVS or VPMA.”

Continuing professional development certificates, lunch and refreshments will be included. For further details and to register, visit
