BSAVA animal charity PetSavers is urging pet owners to get out their cameras and start snapping pics of their pets to take part in its 2015 photography competition.

The charity, which funds vital research into small animal diseases, has relaunched its annual photography competition.

Pet owners are encouraged to send in original photos of their dogs, cats, rabbits and other small furries.

This year’s guest judge will be TV and radio personality Gyles Brandreth.

With up to £200 in photography vouchers to be won, the competition is free to enter and has two categories – adult and junior (16 and under). Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third in each category.

The closing date for all entries is January 30, 2015.

Mr Brandreth, PetSavers’ first patron, said: “I am delighted to support because I believe we humans benefit in so many ways from being pet owners. There is plenty of evidence that pets help us to be happier and healthier and it seems only right we repay them by helping them to lead longer, happier and healthier lives.”
