SPVS is to hold a one-day workshop designed for anyone who has to dealwith difficult people and conversations with skill and confidence inthe practice environment.
Delegates attending the workshop “How to handle difficult people”, which takes place on October 22 at the Novotel in Coventry, will be engaged in practical and interactive discussions, exercises and role plays that will change the way they see and respond to difficult people and difficult situations.
They will be given opportunities to practise learned skills in a variety of contexts so that the skills can become second nature and will also be given the chance to practice difficult conversations with clients and staff.
Course organiser and SPVS president-elect Jacqui Molyneux said: “The ‘How to handle difficult people’ workshop is designed for anyone who has to deal with difficult people or difficult issues in the practice setting.
“Psychological profiling will help delegates distinguish between the temporarily and chronically difficult and how to respond. It will also teach attendees to respond more positively to difficult people and set in place more efficient coping mechanisms.
“It is a workshop that will be invaluable for anyone working in today’s demanding practice environment from front-desk staff to principal vets and practice managers.”
Attendance rates are £199 for the first delegate from a practice. Second delegates from the same practice can attend at the discounted rate of £179. All prices are exclusive of VAT. SPVS members are entitled to a £19.99 discount.
