A new, chewable formulation of Milbemax (milbemycin oxime, praziquantel) – Milbemax Chewable Tablets for dogs (POM-V) – has been launched by Novartis Animal Health UK Ltd.

With the launch of Milbemax Chewable Tablets the company introduces the first Easychew technology in the British veterinary market. This new chewable, chicken-flavoured formulation will complement the standard Milbemax tablet formulation delivering the same broad-spectrum efficacy against major endoparasites.

According to the company, clinical studies have demonstrated that the new chewy texture is highly palatable, with more than 94 per cent of dogs showing spontaneous acceptance from hand – a clear indication that using the chewable tablets should help make worming simpler, improve compliance and positively contribute to protecting the health of our dog population.

Novartis Animal Health claims that Milbemax Chewable Tablets for dogs will deliver consistent treatment for roundworm, hookworm, whipworm, lungworm, tapeworm; and prevention against heartworm.

Folkert Kamphuis, chief operating officer at Novartis Animal Health, said: “The new Easychew formulation represent Novartis Animal Health’s latest innovation. It will make worming a treat while providing tried-and-trusted Milbemax efficacy. With Milbemax chewable tablets we give pet owners a wormer that is easy to administer and veterinarians the trusted efficacy of Milbemax.”

New Milbemax Chewable Tablets are available for both dogs and puppies, in four and forty-eight tablet packs. For further information, contact a Novartis Animal Health representative or the company head office on +44 (0) 1276 694402.
