Norfolk-based veterinary corporate CVS has named a Liverpool vet school researcher as its new head of referrals.
Small animal academic John Innes will take up the full-time post of CVS referral director in July 2013.
CVS chief executive Simon Innes said: “I am delighted that Professor Innes has joined the group and believe the appointment of someone of his reputation underlines the commitment of CVS to providing a network of referral centres that would both serve its own practices and be available for the wider veterinary community.”
Prof Innes qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1991 and was intern in surgery at the University of Bristol prior to completing a PhD on canine osteoarthritis at Bristol Royal Infirmary. He spent five years as lecturer in orthopaedics at Bristol vet school before moving back to Liverpool in 2001.
His current research projects at Liverpool have focussed around joint diseases and his clinical interests include all areas of small animal orthopaedics, particularly arthroscopy and elbow dysplasia.
