Vets2Home has launched a new out of hours service across Surrey and Sussex.
The firm has been in operation since 2005, mostly as a daytime home veterinary service. Now it has launched a service to provide veterinary home visits at nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Managing director and veterinary surgeon Susan Gregersen said: “There has been an ever-increasing niche in the market created by the success and growing emergence of central emergency services.
“There is now a huge demand and a gap in the market for home visits out of hours for frustrated and often emotionally challenged pet owners who cannot (or will not) travel.
“I believe from my own personal experience of being on more than 5,000 home visits both day and night that easy access to out of hours home visits is a highly-appreciated and needed service.”
She added: “The biggest challenge we face at the moment is getting practices in the area to know about us and to refer out of hours cases to us.
“Vets2Home are certainly no threat to these practices as we are just filling in a gap that exists in the current market. For regular practices to fill this gap is often very costly and stressful and once the out of hours visit has been made, we refer all cases back to local practices.”
