Vets have launched a free continuing professional development (CPD) database that will give vets and VNs access to more courses than from any other source.
PlanIt CPD brings together top professional development providers in one site and covers equine, small animal and farm CPD events.
Members can create a free, unique profile and tailor searches to CPDs by cost, area and specialism.
Members also benefit from a library resource on the site, which presents journal abstracts that are relevant to the member’s profile. Full text articles are then available to buy if required.
Launched by vets Simon Bate and Graham Dodds, the pair worked with web developer Steven Holton to create the site.
Simon Bate, director, said: “This will make the whole process of finding and completing CPD easier, and we are confident it will drive compliance in the profession and boost the quality and availability of CPD – two of the main goals set by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in its report entitled “CPD – the future”.
“Our site, plans and methods are already unique, but we feel that, being vets ourselves, we will always have our profession and its requirements for development at the core of what we do. We are proud of our profession and wish to see it flourish and improve over the coming years.”
