Practices are being urged to carry out free adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) testing in support of a national laminitis campaign.
From March until June 2013, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica will again be running its Talk About Laminitis campaign. The company is making ACTH blood test vouchers available for vets to download, after testing laminitic or foot-sore horses. The vouchers can then be attached to ACTH submission forms and laboratories will run the samples for free.
The Talk About Laminitis campaign is supported by horse charities including Redwings, The British Horse Society and World Horse Welfare, and Boehringer Ingelheim will be promoting it with TV and print adverts in equine consumer media.
Vets wishing to participate in the scheme can download the free ACTH test vouchers from the campaign website.
