FAB CEO Claire Bessant said: “Medicating cats is notoriously difficult. It is therefore always a pleasure to be able to reward companies who have made great efforts to make their products easier to administer to cats.”

The winners were:

  • Alstoe’s antibiotic tablet Therios, which is palatable that can be easily split for accurate dosing in cats;
  • Virbac’s flea treatment Effipro, which comes with a transparent pipette to prevent spillage and ensure a complete dose is given;
  • Novartis’ Atopica for cats and its specifically-designed syringe dispenser to allow accurate dosing; and
  • Ceva Animal Health’ Fiprospot, a spot-on medication for treating fleas and flea allergic dermatitis.

The awards have been running since 2005, with the winners are chosen by a panel of feline veterinary experts. Companies can use the FAB ‘Easy to Give’ logo when advertising their winning products.
