The London Vet Show has received the prestigious Best Launch Event Award from the Association of Event Organisers.

London Vet Show awardThe show topped a line up of six UK and international events on the shortlist. It was praised for the “innovative concept and superb event execution of the inaugural event”.

The London Vet Show, organised by Closerstill Media Healthcare, was launched in 2009 with the aim of offering vets “world-class” business and clinical learning.

The launch event attracted almost 2,000 delegates.

The award was presented by comedian Alastair McGowan at Wembley Stadium.

Rob Chapman, event manager for the London Vet Show, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award and to be recognised as the best new event by the toughest judges of all – our peers in the events industry.

“A lot of hard work went into producing the event. We had a concept that the veterinary profession as a whole seemed to really support; working with partners – including the BVA, RCVS and RVC – we were able to turn it into a reality.”

The 2010 London Vet Show will be held on October 22 and 23 at The National Hall, Olympia.
