The search is on again to find the UK’s best practice manager. Nominations are welcomed from owners, vets, VNs, receptionists and other members of the veterinary team.

Impressionist Alistair McGowan (L) and Paul Imrie (R) present 2010  Practice  Manager of the Year, Estelle Busby, with her award.The Veterinary Business Journal Practice Manager of the Year Award 2011 will be presented to the shining individual who has worked wonders for his or her practice in the past 12 months. The award is presented annually, during the Petplan Veterinary Awards, by the VBJ in association with SPVS and the VPMA.

While there is no fixed definition for what a practice manager is, VBJ is looking to find individuals who have responsibility for financial and strategic management as well as motivate, create team spirit, improve staff and client communications and increase practice turnover or profit. The winner will receive a plaque and an annual membership to the VPMA.
 
Last year’s winner was Estelle Busby, practice manager from the Orwell Veterinary Group in Suffolk (pictured).

Completed applications can either be emailed, or printed out and posted to Jackie Morrison, The Veterinary Business Journal, Veterinary Business Development, Olympus House, Werrington Centre, Peterborough, PE4 6NA.
 
Nominations should include name and contact details and the full name of the nominee’s practice. Nominations close on February 1, 2011.
