The hunt for a missing vet feared murdered in Wales continues. A 46-year-old Gwynedd man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder and police have been given a 36-hour extension to question him.

Catherine Gowing was last seen on Friday night at Asda in Queensferry, Flintshire.The hunt for a missing vet feared murdered in Wales continues.

A 46-year-old Gwynedd man was arrested on Tuesday (October 16, 2012) on suspicion of murder and police have been given a 36-hour extension to question him.

Catherine Gowing, 37, was last seen at a supermarket in Flintshire on Friday, October 12 and police were called when she failed to turn up for work the following Monday.

Miss Gowling is originally from County Offaly in the Republic of Ireland but now lives in New Brighton near Mold where she has worked at mixed animal practice, DE Evans, for the past 18 months.

Concerned colleagues of Miss Gowing called police after one received part of an SMS text message.
