Veterinary surgeons and Merial Animal Health raised £1,350 for the charity, Homing Ex-Racehorses Organisation Scheme (HEROS) from a CPD event in May as part of Gastric Ulcer Awareness Month.

CPD delagatesThe money went towards organising the charity’s annual show, which raised a further £6,000 for HEROS.

The money was raised from the CPD event A Practical Approach to Common Equine Problems, which took place at the Nottingham Activity Centre. Vets reserved their places at a cost of £25 and many delegates chose to donate their reserve to HEROS. Merial’s Emma Batson said: “The event was a real success, providing CPD on varied and interesting subjects as well as raising money for a very good cause. Thank you to all delegates who donated their reservation costs to HEROS.” Grace Muir from HEROS added: “Hopefully we can do it again next year.”
