Vetvac.org, developed by GALVmed and Inocul8, aims to list all livestock vaccines, providing a useful source of information for manufacturers and developers, animal health professional and livestock keepers.
A new online database aims to list all livestock and poultry vaccines, providing a free source of information for vaccine manufacturers and livestock keepers around the world.
The database, vetvac.org, has been developed by GALVmed and Inocul8 and contains detailedinformation on nearly 2,000 vaccine products produced by more than 95 manufacturers. Vetvac.org includes information on vaccines available around the world and is being continuously updated, with the aim of providing the most complete compendium of licensed livestock vaccine products worldwide.
Through the online database, developers will be able to review what vaccines already exist before committing resources to developing new products. Vetvac.org will also make independently-verified information available to vaccine users.
Josef Geoola, Vetvac’s co-founder, said: “Although there are a number of online databases and websites that focus on livestock vaccines, none provide the global coverage that vetvac.org aims to achieve – our product will be unique.”
Vetvac’s developers are keen to engage with all vaccine manufacturers so the database can be truly global and comprehensive in its coverage.
Ceva Santé Animale’s Director of Public Affairs, Pierre-Marie Borne, who is also a voluntary member of GALVmed’s board said: “Vetvac.org is a very valuable resource, addressing a significant gap that current online tools are missing. By providing a highly searchable, user-friendly portal for vaccine information, vetvac.org has the potential to help Ceva reach a greater range of target users.”
Any vaccine manufacturers who would like to have their products included in the database can contact the vetvac.org team via email@example.com and more information can be found at www.vetvac.org
