Bob Martin has launched FleaClear, a spot on treatment for fleas and ticks that uses Fipronil, the same active ingredient as market leader Frontline, but costs as little as £4.50 for a single treatment.

According to Bob Martin, the product range has been launched in response to an increasing consumer demand for more affordable dog and cat flea solutions, and the company claims to have invested “considerable money and time” in creating the product, which it says is a “generic copy of Frontline“.

Bob Martin's FleaClear range of spot on products.According to the company, FleaClear is as safe and effective as products available from the vets or pharmacies, having been approved for general sale by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD).

Available in four different packs for dogs (depending on size) and one for cats, the product range has been colour coded to ensure consumers pick up the right pack for their pet, while full instructions for the correct administration of the product are available on pack.

Savi Madan, managing director at Bob Martin said: “We are delighted that FleaClear is now available to our consumers, at Bob Martin we are proud to produce quality products at the best possible price. FleaClear provides a real opportunity for retailers as it is not only cost effective but also convenient.”

The launch is being supported with “considerable marketing spend”, which will include TV advertising, a press campaign in women’s lifestyle titles, and PR and social media support.
