Following success in 2009, Davies Veterinary Specialists (DVS) has announced a comprehensive programme of six free CPD meetings for vets during 2010.

Following last year’s success, Davies Veterinary Specialists (DVS), the small animal referral practice based on the Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire borders, has announced a comprehensive programme of six free CPD meetings for vets during 2010.

The evening sessions, to be held in the practice’s new lecture theatre, will run from February 25 to July 22 and will cover two separate disciplines in each session. Time for questions and informal discussion will be provided after each session.

Individual sessions will focus on a number of disciplines including cardiology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, radiology and more.

The meetings will be held monthly on Thursday evenings, with registration commencing at 7pm.  Complimentary drinks and a finger buffet are included to help stave off the hunger of those coming straight from work. The evening will comprise two 45 minute sessions, followed by time for questions. CPD certificates will be provided on request. For further details please contact Marion Kitchener on 01582 883950 or e-mail

Meanwhile veterinary nurses are welcome to attend DVS’s in-house nurses CPD programme, by prior arrangement. Seminars are being run monthly from February 22 until November. For further information contact DVS training manager Liz Branscombe on 01582 883950 or email

David Gould, who organises the programme, said: “Last year’s evening CPD meetings were a great success and we hope our 2010 programme will be equally popular. If you have any particular requests for topics for future meetings or any helpful feedback we would be pleased to hear from you.”
