Taking place on January 27, the hour-long “Ectoparasites and endoparasites in small furries” will be hosted by exotics experts Anna Meredith and Jenna Richardson.

Prof Meredith is the head of the Exotic Animal and Wildlife Service at the University of Edinburgh Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, while Miss Richardson is an exotics resident in the same team.

The online webcast – which is free and can be viewed from anywhere in the world – aims to give practical advice on how to diagnose and treat the problems parasites can cause in small furry animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, gerbils and chinchillas.

The webinar will also include what samples to take, how to identify common parasites and the therapies available.

Brand manager Carol Morgan said: “Small furries are now commonplace in veterinary practice. It is important vets and vet nurses are aware of the clinical signs, methods of diagnosis and recommended treatments for ectoparasite and endoparasite infestations.

“The webinar will be live and interactive, and feature two case studies that will illustrate how to treat small furry animals presenting with parasitic issues.”
