Vets and scientists from the UK’s leading animal health research institute will hit the road in November as they embark on a massive ten date animal health Roadshow covering the whole of Britain.
Organised by Moredun, a world leader in research into the health and welfare of livestock, each of the ten meetings (which are all accredited vet CPD events) will highlight a different health issue.
It is hoped that these events will provide UK vets and their clients with the information they need to maximise the health, productivity and profitability of Britain’s livestock. Subjects to be covered include:
- Worm control;
- Liver fluke;
- Johne’s disease;
- BVD; and
- Ill thrift in lambs.
Julie Fitzpatrick, chief executive and scientific director of Moredun, said: “The subjects we are covering during this roadshow have all been suggested by our board of regional advisors, most of whom are either vets or farmers – allowing us to remain focused on the needs of the industry.
“We hope that these meetings will help those working directly with livestock learn more about specific animal health problems, enabling them to make informed choices about disease control.”
Moredun’s animal health roadshow will run from November 3-18 and will visit:
Nov 3 – Tain (Royal Hotel): Johne’s disease and Cryptosporidiosis
Nov 4 – Carfraemill (The Lodge): Nifty or Ill thrifty: when lambs fail to thrive
Nov 8 – Kilmarnock (Park Hotel): Controlling liver fluke in sheep and cattle
Nov 9 – Bridge of Allan (Royal Hotel): BVD: control and eradication
Nov 10 – Penrith (Hired Lad): Johne’s disease
Nov 11 – Welshpool (Livestock Market): Safeguarding the health of your flock
