The Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons (SPVS) and the Veterinary Practice Managers Association (VPMA) are hosting a course aimed at those thinking about taking on a leadership role.
Some people are thrown into managing and leading a team while others make a gradual progression. Either way, not everyone is a natural manager or leader.
Moving from a purely clinical role to management can be difficult, particularly following promotion from within a practice where the new position may involve managing well known work colleagues.
Two experienced business consultants, Claire Stewart and Fiona Simms from the Zoetis team will show how to make the move painlessly with a structured introduction to some key leadership and management techniques at Kents HIll Park, Milton Keynes on February 26.
The course is likely to suit nurses who have recently progressed to manage people or who aspire to move up to head nurse or practice manager, and existing head nurses or practice managers who would like to polish up their management and leadership skills.
The day will start at 10am and finish at 4.30pm.
CPD certificates, lunch and refreshments are included. Visit www.spvs-vpma-events.co.uk to book or telephone 01453 872731.
