Veterinary franchise Companion Care Vets has launched its second practice in Northern Ireland.
The new £200,000 surgery is housed inside the Pets at Home store in Ballymena and was officially opened by local councillor PJ McAvoy on February 14, 2013.
According to the practice’s head vet, joint venture partner Mary Davey, the opening “is the realisation of a dream”.
Companion Care managing director Jane Balmain said: “Our expansion into Northern Ireland is an exciting milestone for the business and we are pleased to welcome Mary to our team of partners.
“Our surgery in Lisburn opened in October 2012 and the team has already made a mark for itself in the local community.
“Plans are in place to expand further into this area as the year progresses.”
The company has 107 surgeries across the UK and, according to Ms Balmain, the company is planning to open 12 more practices in the first quarter of 2013.
