The first PetSavers It’s a Charity Knockout competition raised more than £5,000.

Competitors had to complete six fun games before the top four went through to the final.

Eleven teams comprising 105 participants took part in the event on Sunday (July 5, 2015) at Taunton Rugby Football Club ground in Somerset.

Despite having to pause briefly as a thunderstorm struck, the competitors completed six rounds of fun games, which included inflatables, hula hoops and Teletubby costumes before the four highest ranking teams went head to head in the final.

Competitors on tandem spacehoppers battled through foam pits and over inflatable peaks and the eventual winners were the Petrified Penguins from Emerson’s Green Veterinary Surgery in Bristol.

They won a BSAVA Congress practice badge and two VetFest tickets for BSAVA Congress 2016.

All proceeds from the day will go to PetSavers, which funds clinical research into the prevention, treatment and/or cure of illnesses and conditions affecting pets.

PetSavers paid tribute to all the teams and everyone who sponsored them and thanked its sponsors – Taunton RFC, BSAVA Congress, Denplan Pet Health Plans and Action Image Production.
