Ceva Animal Health has boosted its range of anti-infectives with the launch of Cevaxel RTU, an easy to use ceftiofur suspension for the convenient and cost-effective treatment of bovine and porcine respiratory disease and bovine foot rot.
The product is said to offer the best injectability1 and has a zero milk withdrawal.
Bovine respiratory disease is the most common cause of morbidity and mortality in cattle, while foot rot is known to have a severe impact on reproductive function and milk production. Porcine respiratory disease can restrict the growth and development of fattening pigs and in some cases mortality can reach 50%.
Ceftiofur provides wide spectrum defence against Gram +ve and Gram –ve bacteria, with good extracellular diffusion and total bioavailability. The new RTU Cevaxel suspension provides the best injectability available, while the shock-resistant CLAS vial gives robust convenience and safety.
Cevaxel RTU has a zero milk withdrawal period and an eight day meat withdrawal period in cattle. It is available in 100ml and 250ml CLAS vials.
