In the run up to bonfire night, a leading animal health company is campaigning for pet safety information to be made mandatory on all fireworks.

Ceva is campaigning for compulsory pet safety information on fireworksLast year Ceva Animal Health, which produces pet pheromone products Adaptil and Feliway, launched a petition to convince fireworks manufacturers to carry pet safety information, both on packaging and online.

This year, Ceva have reprised the campaign as a Government e-petition.

Ceva veterinary advisor Sarah Endersby said: “This will be the second year running we have called on the fireworks industry to recognise its responsibilities when it comes to protecting pets during what is the most stressful season for them.”

She added: “By producing tips and advice on the packaging, fireworks manufacturers can help advise and guide pet owners to minimise the stress caused to the animals and ensure everyone – pets and owners alike – can have a more enjoyable bonfire night.”
