At the end of last month he presented his chosen charity, ShelterBox, with a cheque for £2,745 – nearly £100 for every pound of weight he lost.

Mr Cobner said: “The best part is that I feel much better and fitter for having lost the weight, though I have to admit I did have to get used to feeling hungry a lot of the time.”

He went on to thank all of those who helped sponsor his weight loss effort.

ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that provides emergency shelter and life-saving supplies to people in disaster situations around the world.

Each green “ShelterBox” contains a large disaster relief tent, blankets, water purification and storage equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit and other disaster-tailored equipment.

“ShelterBox is a very practical charity that provides relief for people in disaster zones all over the world,” Mr Cobner added.
