A memorial service for veterinary surgeon and former RCVS president Bob Michell will be held on Friday 10 March.

Prof Michell, who died on 8 October, aged 75, was a member of the college from 1992 to 2004 and college president from 1999 to 2000.


A BVA council member for 25 years, Prof Michell’s contributions to veterinary and human health led to him being awarded the Chiron Award and the Dalrymple-Champneys Cup and Medal. He also wrote a popular monthly column, Speculum, which appeared in Veterinary Times for more than a decade.

Service details

The memorial service for Prof Michell takes place at Christ’s Chapel of God’s Gift in Gallery Road, London – next to Dulwich Picture Gallery – at 3pm.

The service will be followed by a reception at Dulwich College, which is about 10 minutes walk from the church.
