Pembrokeshire RVN Sarah Reed crowned Blue Cross’ Veterinary Nurse of the Year for 2013. Sarah was nominated for the award for her “compassion and empathy” by clients at her practice.
Leading pet charity, Blue Cross, has announced Sarah Reed of Pembrokeshire as the Veterinary Nurse of the Year 2013. Sarah was awarded the title for going the extra mile to help pets and their owners.
Sarah, a VN at All Pets Vet Care in Milford Haven, was presented with the award on October 11, during the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) Congress in Telford.
Sarah was nominated for the award for her “compassion and empathy” by clients at her practice.
The award was presented by the charity’s chief veterinary surgeon Caroline Reay, who said: “Blue Cross has been dedicated to the health and happiness of pets for over 100 years and our award recognises the hard work and commitment of vet nurses across the UK. They face daily challenges and compassion is a key element when dealing with an owner’s beloved pet – particularly when they are very sick.
“We congratulate Sarah who is clearly a much loved vet nurse by her clients and she really deserves to be this year’s winner.”
Commenting on her win, Sarah said: “When I got the call that I was this year’s winner I was so shocked. I felt very emotional and was on the verge of crying! I’d like to thank all the clients who nominated me and also my great team here at the practice.”
