The accreditation from workplace engagement specialists Best Companies is about excelling in every area throughout the workplace and an organisation’s commitment to its most important asset – its workforce.
Managing director Toby Lewis said: “We have always been proud of the team that work here at PIL. This accreditation shows the commitment we have to looking after our employees and how much they value being part of our growing business.”
For a company to be awarded the accreditation, Best Companies looks at factors such as how employees feel about the head of the organisation, senior managers, and the organisations values and principles.
Based on employees’ responses to questions within the Best Companies survey, PIL received a Best Companies Index score of 691 (on a scale of 1 to 1,000), earning the company a one star status, acknowledged as “very good”.
According to the survey results, Probiotics International Ltd scored highly on how well the company cares for the wellbeing of its staff. Best Companies specifically noted a freedom throughout PIL to “voice opinions and ideas, which is encouraged by the senior managers”.
In fact, the survey revealed that:
- 95% of staff believe they can make a valuable contribution to the success of the organisation
- 90% believe their managers care about them as individuals
Responding to the results, Mr Lewis said: “Focusing on our employees brings real benefits, such as improved workplace engagement, better staff retention, reduced recruitment costs and greater financial performance.”
