Nigel Yeo joins Battersea Dogs and Cats Home as director of operations, overseeing the charity’s largest department.
Battersea Dogs and Cats Home has announced the appointment of Nigel Yeo as its new director of operations.
Mr Yeo joins Battersea having spent the past five years performing a similar role for the RSPCA. The former policeman will oversee the charity’s largest department, responsible for 260 full-time staff and 600 volunteers.
The home’s chief executive, Claire Horton, said: “Nigel is hugely respected in the animal welfare sector and I know he will bring great knowledge and vision to his new role, inspiring our many staff and volunteers.
“Nigel joins Battersea at a very exciting time for the charity as we prepare for a new prime time television series on our work.
“As we open the doors of our charity to new audiences, Nigel will lead our operations teams in responding to what we anticipate will be an increasing demand for our animal services.”
Prior to joining the RSPCA, Mr Yeo was assistant chief constable of Sussex Police.
He said: “I am honoured to be joining one of the UK’s most loved animal charities at such an exciting time.
“Battersea Dogs and Cats Home cares passionately for its people and its animals. From first arrival to eventual rehoming, the operations department is there every step along an animal’s journey through the home, and I am committed to strengthening and developing every stage of this journey, as well as delivering a first-rate service to all our home’s visitors.”
