Avacta Animal Health will be highlighting the benefits of its recently launched SENSITEST cLBT (canine lymphoma blood test) on stand 1003 at this year’s BSAVA Congress.
Lymphoma is one of the most common malignancies in dogs, usually presenting as a painless swelling of the peripheral lymph nodes. However, diagnosis can be complex due to lymphoid proliferation in internal organs.
The recently launched SENSITEST cLBT assay is designed to offer objective and precise assessment of canine lymphoma, assisting in both initial diagnosis and remission monitoring. This high sensitivity assay requires just 2ml of whole blood, and can detect lymphoma up to 8 weeks before physical symptoms emerge, offering greater prognostic insight than palpation techniques.
Avacta will also be showcasing its new SENSITEST canine environmental screen on the stand. Based on the same ELISA technology as the company’s existing allergy tests, this new laboratory service offers uses four mixed allergy panels – weeds, trees, grasses and household allergens – to provide an economical and convenient initial assessment as a precursor to immunotherapy treatment.
