Novartis Animal Health is launching a new campaign to celebrate 10 years of Atopica and wants vets to share their views on canine atopic dermatitis.
The primary aim of the campaign – named “A Decade of Comfort” – is to increase awareness and improve education about atopic dermatitis among vets and pet owners, including Atopica’s proven ability to provide long-term reduction of pruritus and skin lesions associated with the disease.
Ricardo Garvao, category manager for Atopica, said: “Since Atopica was launched to the veterinary world as a brand new solution for dogs with atopic dermatitis, countless vets, owners and – most importantly – pets have enjoyed fantastic long term success. Their stories act as a poignant illustration of the contribution the drug has made to small animal dermatology over the past ten years.”
According to Novartis, keeping real stories, statistics and opinions at the core of everything, and the campaign is set to deliver new educational materials for both vets and owners, including engaging experiences at live events such as BSAVA congress.
Current trends and attitudes towards atopic dermatitis and case studies will be a common thread throughout all activities. Key opinion leaders will also lend their commentary and share some enlightening insights and research results.
The campaign kicks off by asking vets to share their views about canine atopic dermatitis at www.surveymonkey.com/s/atopica. One lucky vet that completes the survey will win a brand new iPad mini. The closing date is February 21.
Vets are also encouraged to “watch this space” for more information on how they can get involved in the celebrations, which will continue throughout 2014.
Mr Garvao added: “This year marks an important milestone for the Atopica brand that wouldn’t have been possible without the backing of so many vets. Continued investment by Novartis Animal Health into research and education seems a fitting way to extend thanks for this support and so forms one of the key elements of the ‘Decade of Comfort’ campaign.
“I am constantly amazed at just how dedicated and hard-working vets are and am immensely proud that Novartis Animal Health shares their goal to help pets remain happy and healthy.”
