The appointment of a clinical director at Croft Vets is being hailed as the beginning of an exciting phase for the north-east veterinary group.

Carol Thompson, Sean Henney and Lydia Miller.

Now under new management, the practice has appointed referral surgeon Sean Henney as clinical director with immediate effect. Mr Henney will fulfil the new role in addition to his clinical duties at Croft Vets’ Cramlington referral hospital.

The practice was established in 1987 and has since developed a significant presence throughout the north-east, with 12 branch sites and more than 70 staff. The group was acquired by Independent Vet Care in September last year.

Speaking about his plans for the future, Mr Henney said: “It’s great to have the support of such a talented team as we look to a new future for Croft Vets. The vets, nurses, customer care teams and administrative staff are all passionate about delivering excellent care for clients and pets alike. Exciting times are ahead, and no doubt there will inevitably be changes as we strive to make our practice the very best it can be and welcome new people to the team.

“We have a number of high-profile referral surgeons who are looking to join Croft as we have ambitious plans to widen our referral capability. We have excellent facilities and fantastic people at Croft Vets, and as clinical director I will work hard to ensure the service we provide, both to pet owners and referral practices, is second to none.”
