The UK’s leading veterinary learning association has announced details of its forthcoming conference on animal management teaching and learning.

The conference will explore best practice in veterinary teaching and learningVETNET LLN, the national lifelong learning network for veterinary professionals, has revealed “Animal management – new horizons in teaching and research” will be the theme of its next conference, set to take place at the Royal Veterinary College’s London campus on July 8.

Lecture topics will include widening participation, wildlife rehabilitation, good practice in teaching and learning in veterinary sciences.

VETNET LLN chairman Kieron Salmon said: “In an ever-changing educational landscape where budgets are being squeezed, where higher education institutions are juggling the demands of the ‘learning experience of their customers’ with targets to widen participation and where further education institutions are under continuing government pressure to raise standards in vocational education, the need for CPD has never been greater.

“However, finding specialist CPD that presents value for money is a challenge. Meeting the needs of our network of members is a priority for VETNET as a membership association, and we think this conference programme does just that.”

Association members are allowed up to four free CPD places, with half-price discounts for additional registrations. Registration costs £100 for non-members.
