This course is available online. Please see below for more details on how to attend this course via the Internet.
This four week online course will assist veterinarians in understanding the principles for the initial diagnosis and management of lameness in dogs and cats.
There will be a focus on performance of a complete orthopaedic evaluation and gait analysis of lame patients, and differentiation between orthopaedic and neurological pathologies. Diagnostic procedures, including bone and joint fluid cytology, keys for radiographic positioning and interpretation will be discussed. Approach to the acutely lame patient will also be covered, with the most urgent injuries that need to be ruled out initially. This course will also focus on the management of chronic lameness, especially secondary to osteoarthritis and chronic pain.
The course will consist of four two hour weekly webinars (which can be viewed live and/or as recorded versions throughout the course), supplemented by reference material, videos, quizzes and case scenarios as well as a Q&A discussion forum with the tutors.
Participants can earn up to 16 CPD hours.
