Joanna Hedley, BVM&S DZooMed (Reptilian) DipECZM (Herpetology) MRCVS

Wed, Nov 23, 2016 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM GMT

 E. cuniculi is an obligate intracellular pathogen that can cause a number of clinical problems in rabbits, including neurological and kidney disease. E. cuniculi has been shown to infect 52% of domestic rabbits in the UK¹. However, of the 52% , only some present with the clinical disease. E. cuniculi spores are spread in urine from an infected rabbit and are then eaten (or less commonly, inhaled) to infect another rabbit. E. cuniculi can also be transmitted from mother to young during pregnancy.

The webinar will discuss the clinical signs, how to prepare a diagnostic plan and the interpretation of E. cuniculi serology.
