This course aims to cover a range of common, emerging, and not so common but important conditions affecting rabbits. Diagnostics and treatment will be covered, and the day will include a discussion of sedation and anaesthesia protocols for different situations.

We will cover the differential diagnosis of gastrointestinal stasis syndrome, including differentiation of surgical and medical acute abdomen conditions, and treatment of both.

Sedation, analgesia and anaesthesia of rabbits of all age categories, medical conditions, and breeds, will be discussed. Dental disease and facial abscesses, their diagnosis and management, will be covered. Respiratory diseases: prevention, diagnosis and management, will be included, in both small group and large group situations.

The five key things you will learn from this course are:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of the acute abdomen
  • How to safely sedate and anaesthetise rabbits
  • Diagnostic options for dental cases
  • Treatment options for dental disease and abscesses
  • Respiratory disease management in the rabbit
