Puppy Classes – Socialisation, education, success!
This course is available online. Please see below for more details on how to attend this course via the Internet.
A well-run, professional puppy course is a wonderful thing – clients look to veterinary professionals for the best advice, and we should be ready to give it!
Veterinary nurses have a vital role to play in helping owners to set their new pups up to become a well-balanced, focused and confident friend for life.
We have a short window at the beginning of a dog’s life (from ~3 to ~18 weeks), during which we can really influence how they see and cope with their world. Careful exposure to a variety of stimuli in a supportive environment will create the foundations for a ready-for-anything adult. Conversely, the wrong puppy class experience, at this crucial time of life, can cause fear, reactivity and all manner of behavioural problems that can take a lifetime to sort out. As with so many things, it’s not what you do, it’s the way that you do it! This course offers a wealth of information on the basics of puppy behaviour and training, logistics of setting up and running classes, puppy behaviour management and trouble-shooting.
Learn how to set up and run the Perfect Puppy Class right from the start, and create your own practice guidelines and supporting materials with this interactive, supported module.
