This one day course covers practical aspects of radiation physics to allow an understanding of the principles and legalities of radiation protection relevant to veterinary practices in the UK. The course is suitable for any veterinary surgeon or veterinary nurse with a particular interest in the subject and is specifically relevant to all radiation protection supervisors.

Production of X-rays; scattered radiation; image production
Radiation measurement; units; personal monitoring
X-ray equipment (including CT); processing
Risk; effects of radiation; risk assessment
