Rabbits are the third most popular pet in the UK and, as such, frequently present in a veterinary practice setting. They have unique behaviour, biology and medical needs that, as veterinary nurses, we need to be aware of in order to provide the very best nursing care to these patients.

This course is suitable for both qualified and student veterinary nurses who wish to expand and update their knowledge of the pet rabbit and associated nursing requirements. You will explore how best to hospitalise, treat and nurse rabbit patients and gain practical tips by looking at case studies to learn about critical areas such as:

  • Rabbit husbandry, handling and hospitalisation
  • Anatomy and common clinical conditions
  • Clinical techniques and parameters (feeding, venous access, fluid therapy, pharmacology)
  • Safe and successful anaesthesia techniques, tips & tricks
