Modular Ultrasound – Module 4 – Thoracic Ultrasound
This module is part of the Modular Ultrasound course.
This module will teach you the techniques required to perform an ultrasound examination of the thorax. Case-based examples will be used to demonstrate normal anatomic appearance and common abnormalities of both non cardiac and cardiac structures. The practical scanning sessions are a key aspect of this module as they will enable you to become confident in performing basic echocardiography in practice.
• Introduction to performing a two-dimensional ultrasound examination of the thorax including patient preparation and optimisation of image quality
• Practical scanning sessions focused on obtaining standard right-sided echocardiographic views
• Introduction to performing B-Mode and M-Mode measurements and calculations sessions
