Methadone and beyond: pushing the boundaries in small animal pain management
This course is available online. Please see below for more details on how to attend this course via the Internet.
This webinar will discuss the use of fentanyl and methadone for acute pain management in cats and dogs. Firstly the webinar will revisit the evidence for the use of methadone compared to other opioids for routine types of surgery and provide confidence in the use of methadone in clinical cases. It will then go on to discuss the use of parenteral fentanyl in small animals with a focus on when to use it and how to use it, both in the intra and post-operative period. The aim is to show what can be achieved to optimise pain management in cats and dogs using currently available licensed analgesic drugs.
