Introduction to the Veterinary Care of Raptors
About this course
This one day course is aimed to provide Vets and Nurses with the skills required to provide effective treatment for Wild Raptor Casualties.
The course will teach attendees how to administer fluids both subcutaneous and orally directly into the crop. Using real raptors attendee’s will be taught how to safely handle and assess them. For an injured Wild Raptor close contact with humans will be extremely stressful so ways to minimize this will be discussed.
The next part of the course will provide a basic introduction to common health conditions that may be seen in the wild casualty. Diagnostic techniques will be demonstrated and treatment plans will be examined.
