Immune Mediated Disease
9 South Gyle Crescent
About this course
Debbie Gow presents Immune Mediated Disease in this one day course.
The immune system is vital to protect against infectious disease; in veterinary medicine we can harness this to protect animals by vaccination.
Unfortunately, there is sometimes the potential for this to turn against the body, occasionally with very serious consequences. Many diseases commonly seen in practice are a result of this.
This course will first outline how the immune-system functions to protect your patients. It will then discuss the most frequently seen immune mediated diseases (IMHA, Immune mediate thrombocytopenia, Myasthenia Gravis, Pemphigus Foliaceus). Treatment and nursing care of these often critically ill animals will be covered in depth.
